KOKOMO, Ind. - IU Kokomo baseball head coach Kolin Conner has announced the addition of assistant coach Joe Kenney, completing the Cougars coaching staff for the 2025-2026 school year.

"Joe played college baseball for two really good programs in Saint Joseph's College and UIndy. He has a really good idea of what good baseball looks like and what a good program looks like," said Conner.

Kenney comes to IU Kokomo from his alma-mater Mahomet-Seymour High School (Ill.), where he has served on the baseball staff since the spring of 2022 in addition to his full-time work in property management.

"He also values the art of building relationships. He gives us the opportunity to recruit central Illinois a little bit more with that being where he is from," Conner continued. "There is a lot of alignment with Joe and how we operate. We are excited to add Joe and look forward to watching him work this year. He will help with the hitting and run the infield."

After the closure of Saint Joseph's College (Ind.) in 2017 forced him to transfer to the University of Indianapolis for his final two years of collegiate eligiblity, Joe immediately made an impact for the Greyhounds. In his four seasons of GLVC baseball between the two programs, he made 193 starts while totaling 146 hits (40 XBH) and 80 RBI.

"I want to thank Kolin and Eli for giving me a chance to be a part of the program and help to build something special," Kenney stated. "I am excited for the opportunity and can't wait to get to work with the staff and student-athletes at IU Kokomo!"

Kenney is a 2019 graduate of the University of Indianapolis, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics while minoring in Business Administration.
