DANIELS, W. Va. - The IU Kokomo Men's Golf team had their 2024-2025 season come to a close Tuesday afternoon, finishing sixth at the 2025 River States Conference Championships held at Glade Springs Golf Resort.
After carding an opening round 302 to sit in fourth, the Cougars turned in identical rounds of 319 in the second and third rounds, finishing sixth with a three-round total of 940 (+76). Midway earned the team title by two strokes over second place WVU Tech with a three-round total of 907 (+43).
Freshman
Lucas Miller continued his strong play down the stretch of his first collegiate season, leading IU Kokomo with a ninth-place finish individually. Miller fired an opening round 73 before following that up with consistent rounds of 77-77 for a three-round total of 227 (+11).
A pair of Cougars finished T-21, as both
Hayden Williamson and
Oliver Gearlds finished with three-round totals of 235 (+19). Williamson delivered rounds of 74-83-78 while Gearlds carded rounds of 73-79-83.
Sophomore
Luke Watson improved four spots up the leaderboard to T-37 in Tuesday's final round, finishing with a three-round total of 245 (+29) after rounds of 82-80-83.
Cole Collins rounded out the IU Kokomo lineup while saving his best round for last, turning in rounds of 90-89-81 for a three-round total of 260 (+44).
