DANIELS, W. Va. - The IU Kokomo men's golf team closed out the 36-hole River States Conference Fall Preview Tuesday, held in West Virginia at The Resort at Glade Springs. The Cougars were led by sophomore
Oliver Gearlds and finished eighth as a team.
IU Kokomo turned in consistent rounds of 312 (+24) for a total team score of 624 (+48) over the course of the two days, 14 strokes back of seventh-place Shawnee State and six strokes clear of ninth-place SMWC. Midway won the team title, shooting a 579 (+3) to win by 13-strokes over Rio Grande.
Triton Central product
Oliver Gearlds led the way for the Cougars in his second RSC Fall Preview, firing rounds of 73 (+1) and 74 (+2) to finish in eighth with two-round total of 147 (+3).
After Gearlds, the next lowest Cougar was
Hayden Williamson, who finished T32. Williamson carded rounds of 79 (+7) and 77 (+5) for a total of 156 (+12).
Sophomore
Luke Watson paired rounds of 79 (+7) and 81 (+9) to finish T43.
Ryder Jones and
Lucas Miller finished T46 with two-round totals of 161 (+17). Miller however, was playing as an individual.
Cole Collins rounded out the IU Kokomo six who made the trip, finishing T53 with a two-round total of 165 (+21).

The Cougars will next be in action Monday, October 7th, as they will travel to Michigan to compete in the Egypt Valley Championship.
