MUNCIE, Ind. - The IU Kokomo men's golf team competed in the 36-hole Delaware Shootout Friday, hosted by IU East at Delaware Country Club in Muncie. The Cougars were led by junior
Hayden Williamson and finished 7th as a team.
IU Kokomo turned in rounds of 313 and 310 for a total team score of 623, two strokes back of sixth-place IU East and six strokes clear of eighth-place Freed-Hardeman. NCAA Division I program Chicago State won the team title, shooting a 599 to win by six-strokes over Oakland City.
Maconaquah HS product
Hayden Williamson turned in his best performance of the season Friday, firing consistent rounds of 72-72 to finish T-2 with a two-round total of 144 (+4). Chicago State's Julian Colavecchia won the individual title with rounds of 69-73.
After an opening round 79, sophomore
Oliver Gearlds delivered a final round 75 to finish 17th.
Ryder Jones turned in rounds of 79-80 to finish T-29 for the Cougars.
Freshman
Lucas Miller closed out the Delaware Shootout in a tie for 47th with a two-round total of 165, while teammate
Luke Watson was a stroke back in 50th.
