KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo Women's Golf team, led by Head Coach
Brandi Jones, played host to eight other institutions over the weekend, welcoming them to Wildcat Creek Golf Course for the first annual IUK Spring Shootout.
The Cougars improved four strokes from the first round despite tougher conditions on Sunday, shooting a final round 345 (+57) for a two-round total of 694 (+118). IU East won the team title with a two-round total of 644 (+68), while the Red Wolves' Liv Sanders earned Individual Medalist honors by five-strokes on a day in which she recorded a hole-in-one on the 17th.
Junior
Hailey Stegemann provided the Cougars with their best individual finish of the tournament, as she finished T-12. Stegemann carded rounds of 85-83 for a two-round total of 168 (+24).
Carly Chandler played well in adverse conditions, delivering rounds of 88-86 to finish 20th with a two-round total of 174 (+30).
Both Anna Hutchings and
Stefanie Dickerson followed Chandler in a tie for 23rd with two-round totals of 177 (+33). Hutchings turned in rounds of 90-87 while Dickerson shot rounds of 88-89.
Sophomore
Chloe Crook rounded out the IU Kokomo lineup with a two-round total of 180 (+36), good for T-28.
The Cougars will next be in action this Friday in Angola, as they are set to compete in Trine University Women's Golf's 2025 Spring Classic.
