Brandi Jones

Brandi Jones was named head coach of the Indiana University Kokomo women’s golf program prior to the 2023-24 season following one of the most decorated playing careers in IU Kokomo athletics history. A former standout student-athlete for the Cougars, Jones quickly transitioned from program cornerstone to program leader, taking over the women’s golf team after establishing herself as the most accomplished golfer in IU Kokomo history across both the men’s and women’s programs.

A native of Peru, Indiana, and graduate of Maconaquah High School, Jones competed for IU Kokomo from 2018-23, taking advantage of the NCAA and NAIA COVID-19 eligibility extensions to complete both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees while competing in six seasons for the Cougars.

Jones rewrote the IU Kokomo record books throughout her collegiate career, owning virtually every individual season and career record in program history by the time her playing days concluded. Among her many accomplishments, Jones earned back-to-back River States Conference Championship Medalist honors in 2022 and 2023, qualifying individually for the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championships in both seasons.

Her collegiate career culminated with one of the best national performances in program history during the 2023 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship, where she finished inside the top 20 nationally with a four-round score of 310. Jones also helped guide IU Kokomo to a program-best runner-up finish at the 2023 River States Conference Championships during her final season as a player.

“Ever since I started at IU Kokomo, my dream has been to leave the program better than I found it,” Jones said following her hiring. “I strived to achieve this as a player, and I am blessed to have the opportunity to pursue this goal as a coach. The IUK and Kokomo community have always been incredibly supportive of my career, and I am excited for all of us to start this new chapter together.”

Jones continues to bring the same competitive mindset and passion for the program into her coaching career as she works to build upon the success she helped establish during her historic playing tenure.
