CINCINNATI, Ohio. - The IU Kokomo women's golf team captured the team title at the Stateline Shootout over the weekend, overcoming tough weather conditions to finish ahead of five other teams. The tournament, hosted by Mount St. Joseph, marks the first team title under head coach
Brandi Jones.

THE RUNDOWN
- The Cougars opened with a 339 in Friday's first round to take the early lead before firing a season-best 18-hole score of 332 in Saturday's final round to secure the first team title under head coach Brandi Jones. IU Kokomo finished 27 strokes ahead of second-place California (PA).
- IU Kokomo was led by Hailey Stegemann, a Cincinnati native competing in her hometown. Stegemann finished second overall with rounds of 79 and 79 for a two-round total of 158.
- Chloe McFaddin followed Stegemann with a seventh-place finish, carding rounds of 84 and 83 for a two-round total of 167.
- Stefanie Dickerson, one of two Cougars competing as individuals, finished four strokes behind McFaddin in a tie for eighth. After opening with an 88, Dickerson posted a final-round 83 for a two-round total of 171.
- Chloe Crook and Carly Chandler rounded out the Cougars' scoring, finishing 12th and 13th respectively. Crook posted a two-round total of 178 (90-88), while Chandler finished just one stroke behind with a total of 179 (86-93).
- Layla Stearns bounced back strongly after a tough opening round, improving by 17 strokes from Friday to Saturday. She fired a personal-best 82 in the final round to finish tied for 14th with a two-round total of 181.
- Noelle Hutchings was the other Cougar competing as an individual, rounding out IU Kokomo's seven-player lineup with a two-round total of 189 (92-97) to finish tied for 24th.
