TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The IU Kokomo men's track and field team competed at Indiana State University's Pacesetter Open over the weekend, highlighted by
Steven Case setting a new school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

THE RUNDOWN
- Distance runner Steven Case made a statement in the 3,000-meter steeplechase over the weekend, setting a new school record with a time of 9:59.18 and finishing tenth overall behind NCAA Division I and unattached competitors. Teammate Isaiah Kanable also climbed the program's all-time rankings, placing 17th with a time of 10:42.19, now fourth in school history in the event.
- Darrius Megnin continued his strong start to his first outdoor season at IU Kokomo, improving this week to third all-time in the program's 400-meter hurdles record books. Megnin finished seventh in the event with a time of 57.35, marking the third-fastest performance in program history.
- Veteran thrower Evan Gaylor delivered another strong performance in the shot put over the weekend, continuing a tradition Cougar fans have come to expect from the Gaylor name. He finished fifth in the event with a mark of 15.77 meters, ranking third all-time in program history. Evan also finished fourth in hammer throw with a mark of 52.77 meters.
- Gabe Wedmore claimed second place in the hammer throw with a mark of 54.29 meters and also placed seventh in the shot put with a throw of 15.56 meters.
- Jacob Sayger was the top-finishing Cougar in the men's javelin, placing sixth with a throw of 41.92 meters, moving into sixth place in the program's all-time record books.

- "Steven Case broke the 3k Steeplechase school record as he is still learning how to race the event. Isaiah Kanable and Bryce Stateler are also first year steeplechasers and have left their marks on the all time list. Evan Gaylor continues to improve in the shot put and Jacob Sayger had a nice pr in the javelin throw. Gabe Wedmore finished second in the hammer throw despite not throwing the distance he wanted. Darrius Megnin is healthy and is continuing to improve." - Head Coach Josh Colvin
