MUNCIE, Ind. - The IU Kokomo men's track and field team competed at NCAA Division I Ball State University's We Fly Challenge this past Friday and Saturday, as four program records were either set or matched in a strong weekend for the Cougars.

THE RUNDOWN
- Steven Case and several others set new school records across multiple events over the weekend, with Case finishing second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase while breaking the school record in a time of 9:52.54.
- Fellow distance runner Drew Lovelace also set a program record in the 5,000 meters, finishing second out of 24 competitors with a new school-record time of 15:23.37.
- IU Kokomo's 4x100-meter relay team of Darrius Megnin, Tanner Gibson, Trevon Hess, and Rico Ortiz set a new school record with a time of 42.77 seconds.
- NAIA Indoor Track & Field All-American Gabe Wedmore tied his own school record in the hammer throw, finishing third out of 25 competitors with a mark of 56.40 meters.
- Megnin also enjoyed a strong performance in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing fifth out of 16 student-athletes with a time of 56.41, a mark that ranks him second all-time in the program record books.
- Senior thrower Evan Gaylor was active over the weekend, improving to second all-time in the program record books in both the shot put and hammer throw, while also moving to sixth all-time in the discus. Teammate Seth Ireland also improved to fourth all-time in both events.
- Mavrick Griffin has turned in a strong start to the outdoor season, improving to third all-time in the javelin and fifth all-time in the 400-meter hurdles.
- Ayden Potts had a successful weekend in both the 800 and 1500, moving up to third in the program record books in the 800 and fourth in the 1500.

- "Ayden Potts had a great weekend and as did Steven Case with a pr in the 1500 and another school record in the steeple. Drew Lovelace continues a phenomenal junior season with a school record in the 5k and Kyle Thibideau is wrapping up his college career running his fastest ever 5k. Darrius Megnin ran a great 400h race and contributed to the school record breaking 4x100 relay team along with Rico Ortiz, Tanner Gibson, and Trevon Hess. He also contributed to our 4x400 relay team with Rico Ortiz, Trevon Hess, and Mason Davis to a #7 all time effort. Evan Gaylor is wrapping up his collegiate throwing career with a bang as he continues to throw pr's and move up the record boards in our throwing events. Jacob Sayger only got two throws in the hammer throw but made the best of it by throwing a pr. Gabe Wedmore ties his own school record in the hammer throw for an NAIA B Standard mark." - Head Coach Josh Colvin
