NEW ORLEANS, La. - Having already earned the prestigious honor once this year, Indiana University Kokomo student-athlete
Sydney Duncan has now been named USTFCCCA NAIA Women's Athlete of the Week once again after breaking a pair of River States Conference Indoor Championships meet records over the weekend.
While Sydney entered last week's 2025 RSC Indoor Track and Field Championships as the favorite to win both the Shot Put and Weight Throw, she did that and more inside the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center on the campus of Maryville College.
First in Shot Put, Duncan delivered a throw of 16.75 meters on her fourth attempt, breaking the meet record of 14.00 meters she set back in 2024. She won the event last Friday by 4.73 meters over teammate
Faith Rock.
Back for more Saturday in the Weight Throw, Sydney chucked the 20-pound weight 17.8 meters, setting a new meet record by 1.44 meters and winning by 2.25 meters.
As of today, Sydney enters the 2025 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships ranked first in the NAIA in Shot Put and 14th in Weight Throw.
