RIO GRANDE, OH. - The IU Kokomo men's cross country team wrapped up their season with a strong fourth-place finish Saturday morning at the River States Conference Championship, hosted by the University of Rio Grande at the Rio Grande Cross Country Course.

THE RUNDOWN

• The Cougars finished fourth out of eleven teams. #17 Rio Grande took the team title with 38 points. 
• Junior Steven Case led the team with a 22nd-place finish, clocking a time of 26:54.73.
• Senior Bryce Stateler followed close behind in 31st place, running 27:28.33, while freshman Jeremiah Miles finished 36th with a time of 27:42.58.
• Freshman Karter Jackson was the fourth Cougar across the line, placing 40th in 27:57.46.
• Junior Drew Lovelace rounded out the scoring five in 42nd place, finishing in 28:04.51.
  • Lovelace was also nominated as the teams Champion of Character. 
• Saturday also marked the final cross country race for three Cougar seniors:
  • Isaiah Kanable 
  • Bryce Stateler
  •  Kyle Thibideau

• "It was a rough day for the men.  We had a couple of our guys battling illness going into the race.  I feel bad for them because they obviously wanted to perform well.  We came in ranked 4^th and finished 4th.  Overall, this is still the best men's team we have ever had so the future looks good."  - Head Coach Josh Colvin

• With no Cougars advancing to the NAIA National Championship meet in Florida, the River States Conference Championship marks the conclusion of the 2025 IU Kokomo men's cross country season.
