MARION, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo women's cross country team kicked off their 2024 season Friday evening in Marion, as they competed in the 20-team Indiana Wesleyan Twilight Invitational.
The Cougars finished 12th with a total team time of 2:07:30.60, while nearby Taylor University won the team title with 29 points and a total time of 1:52:41.40.
Senior
Hannah Wells was the first Cougar to cross the finish line, finishing 46th with a time of 24:36.40.
Classmate
Isabelle Altic delivered a strong performance, as she finished 66th with a personal best 6k time of 25:07.60.
Junior
Leslie Sprankles crossed the finish line with a time of 25:16.70, good for 74th.Â
Cougar freshman
Alysha Crouch was the fourth IUK runner to finish the 6k, stopping the clock at 25:59.20 to finish 109th.
IU Kokomo's fifth and final counting time came from experienced veteran
Ella Kantz, who finished 127th with a time of 26:30.70.
Freshmen
Keeley Carpenter and
Kaylee Futrell finished their first collegiate meets with personal best times as well, rounding out the top-seven.

The Cougars will return to competition two weeks from yesterday, September 20th, as they will compete on the 2024 National Championship course as part of Columbia College's Larry Young Invite.
