INSIDE THE HUDDLE
- "We came in ranked 4th and we finished 4th as a team. Leslie, Courtney, and Amber ran really good races. It has been a few years since we have had three all-conference athletes so I am very proud of them. We are hoping to get Leslie and Courtney qualified for Nationals. We will find out for sure on Tuesday. Overall, this is the best women's team we have ever had and I can only hope we can continue trending forward in the future." - Head Coach Josh Colvin
THE ROAD AHEAD
-
Leslie Sprankles and Courtney Adams are in position to qualify for the NAIA National Championship Meet in Tallahassee, Florida. With Rio Grande taking the conference title, they earn the automatic team bid to nationals. Runner-up Shawnee State and RV Indiana East could both secure at-large bids if they are ranked within the NAIA's top 30 teams in Tuesday's national poll.
If only one of those teams receives an at-large bid, Sprankles will advance to the national meet. If both Shawnee State and Indiana East qualify, both Sprankles and Adams will represent IU Kokomo at nationals. However, if neither team receives an at-large bid, neither runner will advance.
The NAIA Cross Country rankings will be released Tuesday, November 11, at 5 p.m.
