WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio. - The IU Kokomo women's golf team took part in John Carroll University's Fall Invitational over the weekend, held in Willoughby Hills at Manakiki Golf Course.
The Cougars found themselves in a tie for seventh after Saturday's opening round after shooting a 332. Head coach
Brandi Jones's squad then showcased their toughness Sunday in windy conditions, climbing multiple spots to finish fifth with a two-round total of 690 (+114).
Ashland and Depauw (Ind.) finished in a tie for first with two-round totals of 640 (+64), with the Tigers edging Ashland in the playoff to win the team title.
Freshman
Stefanie Dickerson fired her best round of her collegiate career Saturday, carding an 80 (+8) prior to a final round 87 (+15) to finish T13.
Juniors Anna Hutchings and
Hailey Stegemann both finished T19 with two-round totals of 171 (+27). Both Hutchings and Stegemann turned in rounds of 83-88.
Chloe Crook finished T34, delivering rounds of 86-95 for a two-round total of 181 (+37).
Carly Chandler was the fifth and final Cougar competing on the weekend, turning in rounds of 92-95 for a two-round total of 187 (+43), good for 40th.
The Cougars will close out the fall portion of their schedule this Friday and Saturday as they host the inaugural Crimson Classic at Wildcat Creek Golf Course.
