VERSAILLES, Ky. - The Cougars traveled down to Midway University to compete in the RSC Championship meet. The men's team was ready to see how they stacked up against the very competitive men's teams of the conference. This talented field of runners lead to a tough race and a fourth-place finish for the Cougars.
Luis Saldana led the way for the men with a time of 26:34.91 and a 21st place finish. Saldana was named Third Team All-RSC with this weekend's performance.
Freshmen Jonas Brooks finished his debut season on a high note, as he was the second team finisher in a personal record time of 26:39.3.
Steven Case, Bryce Jennings and Caleb Vogl round out the top-five finishers for IUK.
Here is what head Coach Josh Colvin had to say about the men's performance on Saturday: "We are somewhat disappointed we didn't qualify for nationals as a team or send any individuals. Luis Saldana ran well and earned 3rd team All-Conference. Bryce Jennings and Cyrus Felger are two 5th year seniors who competed in their last cross country season. They have provided great leadership over the last 5 years and they will be greatly missed moving forward.
