LEXINGTON, Ky. - The IU Kokomo men's golf team opened its spring season Monday and Tuesday at the Midway Eagle Invitational in Lexington, hosted at the University Club of Kentucky.

THE RUNDOWN
- The Cougars opened with a 320 in Monday's first round to sit in a tie for sixth heading into Tuesday's final round. IU Kokomo improved by nine strokes on Tuesday, carding a 311 to finish fourth out of 12 teams. Kentucky State and Marian (Ind.) tied for first with two-round totals of 593, while IU East finished third with a 617, 14 strokes ahead of the Cougars.
- Senior Hayden Williamson led the way for IU Kokomo, earning a top-10 finish to open his final semester of collegiate golf. Williamson finished tied for ninth with rounds of 77 and 75 for a two-round total of 152 (+8).
- Oliver Gearlds finished tied for 19th after carding consecutive rounds of 78 for a two-round total of 156 (+12).
- Freshman Nathan Daugherty finished four strokes behind Gearlds in a tie for 26th, posting rounds of 82 and 78 for a two-round total of 160 (+16).
- Classmate Carter Bennett finished tied for 35th, recording rounds of 85 and 80 for a two-round total of 165 (+21).
- Luke Watson rounded out the IU Kokomo lineup, finishing tied for 45th with rounds of 83 and 87 for a two-round total of 170 (+26).

- The Cougars will next compete April 9–10 at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend for the Holy Cross Spring Invite.
