Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo baseball team played a doubleheader against Lourdes University on Monday, winning game one 11-8 and walking off game two on a home run by Brayden Coffey to win 12-10. With these wins, the Cougars rise to 11-11 this season and remain 1-2 in conference play.

Game 1 (7 innings): 11-8 win

• In the top of the first inning, Thomas Obergfell saved a would-be run with an impressive throw from right field to the plate to end the inning.
• Lourdes scored three runs in the second inning on two RBI singles and a sacrifice fly.
• In the fourth inning, Jarod Gillespie and Kasey Ross scored on a two-RBI single by Luke Hanson.
• Lourdes added two more runs in the fifth inning on an RBI double followed by an RBI single.
• The Cougars scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. First, Thomas Obergfell hit a three run homer to drive in Alex Janke and Garrett Lupoi, then Judah Hennessy, Jarod Gillespie, and Tucker Platt all scored on a bases clearing double from Caden Whitehead.
• In the sixth inning, Alex Janke scored on an RBI single by Thomas Obergfell, who then scored on a single by Jarod Gillespie. Kasey Ross also scored an unearned run on Gillespie's hit. 
• Lourdes hit a three run homer in the top of the seventh inning, but it was not enough to overcome IUK's lead, as the Cougars would claim an 11-8 victory.
• Blake Kimball started the game for the Cougars and pitched four innings. Kimball gave up eight hits and three earned runs with one strikeout and one walk.
• Connor Hurt relieved Kimball in the fifth inning and earned the win for IUK. Hurt gave up four hits and two runs with one strikeout.
• Brandon Bultemeier pitched the sixth inning and gave up one hit.
• Asa Cristie pitched the seventh and final inning for IUK, giving up one hit and three runs while also striking out three batters to close the game.

Game 2 (8 innings): 12-10 win

• Lourdes scored two runs in the first inning on a bases loaded walk, followed by a run on a wild pitch.
• IU Kokomo matched Lourdes's two runs in the bottom of the first; Alex Janke scored on a sacrifice fly by Jack Leverenz, and Thomas Obergfell hit an RBI single to send Riley Garczynski home. 
• In the fourth inning, Lourdes scored five runs starting with a run on a wild pitch, then a two-RBI double, an RBI groundout, and an RBI single.
• Lourdes added another run in the top of the fifth with an RBI single (runner out at second).
• Riley Garczynski hit a solo home run for IUK in the fifth inning.
• Lourdes scored on an RBI double in the sixth inning.
• The Cougars scored four runs in the sixth inning, starting with a Jacob Medvescek sacrifice fly to drive in Garrett Lupoi. Jarod Gillespie scored on an RBI double by Tucker Platt, and Jack Leverenz hit a two-RBI double to send Tucker Platt and Riley Garczynski across the plate. 
• IUK scored two runs in the seventh inning to tie the score at nine. Brayden Coffey scored on an RBI single by Riley Garczynski, who then scored on a hit off the bat of Platt.
• Lourdes went ahead 10-9 in the top of the eighth on a sacrifice bunt.
• While stealing third, Tahj Borom scored on a throwing error by the catcher to tie the score at 10. Shortly after this, shortstop Brayden Coffey hit a home run with Blake Kimball on second base to walk off the game and clinch a 12-10 victory.
• Tyler Hensch started for IUK. Hensch recorded five walks and two earned runs.
• Nathan Stanley came in after Hensch and gave up two hits and one earned run with four strikeouts.
• Koen Berry relieved Stanley. Berry gave up four hits and five earned runs with three walks and two strikeouts.
• Jack Bruington pitched the sixth and seventh innings for the Cougars. Bruington gave up one hit and one earned run and recorded one strikeout and four walks.
• Asa Christie entered the game in the eighth inning. Cristie struck out one batter.

This weekend, the Cougars will travel to Alice Lloyd College in Kentucky for a three game series, with a single game on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday.
