KOKOMO, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo baseball team swept Friday's series opening doubleheader against the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) to move above .500 for the first time this season.

Drew Brantley's squad will battle the Cougars of USF once again Sunday afternoon, closing out the four-game series with another doubleheader set to begin at noon.
Game 1 (9 innings): 4-2 Win
- Justin Bultemeier got the start on the mound for IU Kokomo and was dominant early, tossing five innings of three-hit ball while allowing one earned run. Bultemeier struck out 10 and improved to 2-1 on the year with the win.
- Dylan Steele drew a walk to lead-off the home half of the second, before advancing to second on a Thomas Obergfell sac-bunt. Tahj Borom came through with a two-out single to score Steele and give IUK a 1-0 lead.
- Saint Francis (Ind.) pushed a run across in the top of the fifth on three hits, tying the game 1-1 through four and a half as Bultemeier stranded the bases full.
- IU Kokomo immediately answered USF with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Borom and Riley Garczynski each reached to open the inning, before Kasey Ross doubled down the right field line to score both. Ross would later score on a Mike Talesky single to center.
- USF managed to scratch a run across in the top of the seventh to make it 4-2, but neither side would score again as IU Kokomo closed out a 4-2 game one victory.
- Freshman Luke McDonald relieved Bultemeier, allowing one earned run on three hits in two innings of work.
- Blake Kimball entered to pitch the eighth and pitched around a two-out walk for a zero. His final line was 1.1 IP, 2 H, BB, HBP.
- Victor Fujiu entered in the ninth with one out and the bases juiced. Fujiu struck a man out before inducing a fly-ball to left field for the final out of the game, earning him his second save of the season.
Game 2 (7 innings): 4-3 Win
- IU Kokomo got the scoring started in the bottom of the second, as Dylan Steele walked and then scored on a Thomas Obergfell triple to right center for a 1-0 lead.
- Saint Francis scored a run on two hits in the top of the third to tie the game 1-1 through two and a half.
- The game remained knotted until the bottom of the fifth, where Tahj Borom walked and eventually scored on a Kasey Ross single to center.
- USF immediately responded with a pair of runs in the sixth for their first lead of the day, a 3-2 lead.
- Jacob Medvescek led off the home half of the sixth with a solo-shot to right, evening the score 3-3 with no outs in the inning.
- Borom would single with two outs, advance to second on a Riley Garczynski walk, and score on yet another Kasey Ross run-scoring hit. The Cougars took a 4-3 lead into the seventh, three outs away from a DH sweep.
- Asa Christie slammed the door on the Cougars of USF, striking out a pair before inducing a come-backer and making a play to close the game. The save was Christie's first of the year.
- Ben Harris started on the mound for IUK, tossing 4.1 innings while allowing one earned run on five hits and two walks while striking out four.Â
- Connor Hurt got the Cougs out of a jam in the fifth, striking out a man and inducing a 6-3 ground-out.
- Alec Murphy tossed the sixth, surrendering two runs on two hits while striking out a pair. Murphy picked up the first win of his collegiate career, as IUK took the lead in the bottom of the sixth.
