SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Two Indiana University Kokomo women's distance runners competed in the second annual NAIA Marathon Classic Sunday morning in California, a race that essentially serves as the NAIA's unofficial championship while the event moves from a special event, to an emerging sport, and finally to a national championship status.
Sunday's race, ran in conjunction with the California International Marathon, featured near perfect weather for a 26.2 mile competition, as competitiors began near the Folsom Dam and ended in Sacramento.
IU Kokomo freshman
Alysha Crouch was the first Cougar to finish Sunday's race, crossing the finish line in 31st with a time of 3:31:33.
Senior
Isabelle Altic followed 10 spots behind Crouch in 41st, as she finished in a time of 3:45:22.
