KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo Esports team continued their impressive start to their inaugural season Thursday night, as the Cougar Overwatch team faced off with Bradley University Syndicate. IU Kokomo swept Bradley for a 3-0 win in the regular season opener.

Game 1
To start off the regular season, IUK chose it's favorite map, Lijang Tower.  Here the first round consisted of a Brawl comp consisting of Baptiste, Symmetra, Orisa, Soldier and Lucio.  At the start of the match, IUK teleported to middle point and beat their opponents to the control point.  IUK would hold this first capture til about 77 percent, crediting a trade & losing their soldier, but taking out Bradley's Reinhardt.  After a Baptiste window around 70 percent by Bradley, they were able to push IUK out of the control point.  Once the Cougars regrouped, they were able to overwhelm Bradley with their ults to take back the point and secure round one.  

In round 2, the Cougars quickly established control of the objective and never let it leave their grasp.  Rolling with a similar comp, but swapping sym for Hanzo.  The point was fought over for a good bit to start until a huge anti by the Cougar's ana, played by Cody Kretz [Roo], helped to secure a kill on Bradley's Rein and support.  From those initial captures, IUK held on for the duration of the match, making sure to control their space and preventing Bradley from having a chance to take the point.

IUK leads 1-0.

Game 2
With the second game switching to Hybrid, Bradley elected to go Eichenwalde, and IUK chose to defend first.  With another dominant performance by the Cougars, they held their ground, not allowing Bradley to even land a touch on the first capture point.  This led to Sean Sonnenberg [JohnLemons] tank play with Orisa to prevent their opponent from breaking their front line and having great poke support coming from the entire team.

Switching to offense the Cougars rolled a reaper, sym, orisa, bap, and kiriko comp and rolled to the capture point until a big anti squished the hopes of a swift capture for IUK.  In the mid game, Alex Eubanks swapped to a bastion, with a sym for Hanzo swap and led a huge push and eventual capture for IUK.

IUK leads 2-0.

Game 3 
In game 3, Flashpoint would be played, and Bradley elected to go New Junk City.  Flashpoint has been a struggle for the Cougars so they hoped to start the year off with a good showing this time around.  IUK swapped to a Junkerqueen brawl this time around.  Bradley showed fight, as they knew it was win or go home with this being match point.  Bradley led a charge with a DVA swap to take the point first.   This first capture lasted to 39% when IUK was able to take the control and hold for a solid 99 percent capture.  A huge ult from Bradley's tank forced the Cougars to leave the point and even take JohnLemons with them.  The Cougars were able to regroup and regain back control to take the first point.

2^nd point was a capture by IU Kokomo first, mainly due to out speeding their opponents to the point.  Once at point, IUK held a wall of space to prevent Bradley from entering the point.  This was huge as it allowed for a 100 % - 0 % capture for IUK, mainly led by get space control and huge elims by Gavin [zPunda].  

3^rd point was another fast capture for IUK and one that quickly wrapped up the last match of the series. The Cougars again were able to dominate the control game and even pin the opponents to their spawn.

IUK Wins 3-0 vs Bradley University Syndicate.

The Cougars will return to action Friday night for a Rocket League matchup against Concordia University - Wisconsin.
