KOKOMO, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo Esports team closed out activation week play with a final pair of Rocket League matches. The Cougars swept the University of Missouri before winning 3-1 against the Colonials of Robert Morris.

Match One

For the first matchup of the day, IUK took on the University of Missouri in a best of five series.

Game 1: To start off the activation match, IUK started off fast and aggressive, taking advantage of Missouri's slow start.  Through some great communication between the team, IUK was able to quickly get a 1-0 lead in the series with a 2-0 win after a terrific defensive showing by the team's captain, Jackson McCullough [Gamertag Astéri.x], as he led the game with four total saves and even converted a goal of his own.

Game 2: In game two, the Cougars did not take the foot off the gas, as they again scored a quick goal to set the tone of the match.  Trey Ehman [WhoGC] was the star of this match as he scored half the team's goals to led the IU Kokomo to a 4-0 victory over the Tigers.

Game 3:  Game three was a much closer match, with Mizzou coming out hot.  Their play style flipped, as they went into a much more aggressive play style that focused heavier on demoing the Cougars.  With the change of pace, the Cougars weren't able to hold off the Tigers and lost the game 2-1.

Game 4:  In the fourth game of the series, IUK came with a game plan to match the pace of their opponent, focusing on communicating to see if they could out pace the Tigers.  With two goals, two saves, and one assist, Alex Rickey [rickeyyy], one of IUK's starters, was able to help keep the pressure back on the Tigers side of the field and secure the series win with a 4-1 final score.

IUK 3 – 1 University of Missouri

The next matchup was vs Robert Morris University.

Game 1:  IUK shot off a cannon to lead off the first game of the series as they easily took game one vs RMU in a 7-0 victory, led by a hat trick by the team captain Astéri.x.  Rickey and Trey followed with two goals of their own.

Game 2: Game two was no different for the Cougars as the game seemed over before it started in a 9-1 victory.  WhoGC took control of the game with an outburst of scoring, finishing off the match with five goals and one assist of his own.

Game 3:  Game three was a much different matchup then their two predecessors, as Robert Morris University got off to a 2-0 lead early on trying to push to extend the series.  With less than a minute of regulation remaining, the Cougars tied up the score to push the match into overtime.  In OT, IU Kokomo came out on top 3-2 to seal their last activation week match with a victory.
