KOKOMO, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo Esports team, led by head coach Nick Liegey, dropped a Super Smash Bros Crews matchup with the University of Mount Union Tuesday evening. Mount Union beat IU Kokomo 2-0.
 

Game 1
IUK Rolled out a lineup of Sw3aty as Robin, Ghost as Bowser, Roo as Rob, and LilNeggy as Ganondorf.  The first matchup was Robin vs Lucas [Angmills8].  In this match-up it was very neck and neck the entire match, but Mount Union's opener was able to close out a one stock victory.  The following match was Bowser for IUK who faced the one stock Angmills.  Ghost was able to close out Angmills, but not without losing a stock to allow Mount Union to keep the stock advantage over IUK. 

Next match, Bowser vs Dark Samus [Aceyg48].   Ghost was able to turn the tables and again have another great first set appearance this week.  With an absolutely dominant performance, Ghost 3-0 Aceyg48 and helped IUK take a two stock lead on their opponents.  For the next match, Mount Union threw in their Zelda main [Walugi].  Ghost held his own, but faced a great spike by Zelda that cost him the game and led to a 2-1 stock victory for Walugi. 

Following Ghost, Roo was up to bat rocking his Rob.  Rob and Zelda had an intense even battle for the first stock which led to a stock traded for each, until Roo was able to pull away taking the 2-1 victory.  Mount Union was down to their last player, Kirby, who was ironically not playing Kirby, but instead Snake.  It was Rob with two stocks, vs Snake with 3 stocks.  Snake used the tactic of utilizing his range and tried his best to camp out Rob as best they could.  In the end, Snake was able to take a 2-1 victory after surviving a high critical 2^nd stock life. 

It was down to LilNeggy, as he rocked Ganon vs Snake.  LilNeggy was able to get some great combos to connect early and racked Snake's percent up quickly.  This led to an eventual knock off for LilNeggy, but unfortunately Snake's range attacks were too much for LilNeggy, as Snake walked away with a 3-1 victory, securing the set win for Mount Union, a one stock victory.
 

Game 2
IUK switched the lineup this time around, leading off with LilNeggy as Ness.  Ness faced Acey this time, the Dark Samus. In a close match, LilNeggy was able to outlast Acey and capture a 3-2 victory.  Up next for Mount Union, Angmills returned as his Lucas to have a Ness v Lucas matchup.  This match went entirely to Angmills as he took control of the match early with some heavy combos with Lucas. 1-0 Mount Union Victory. 

To face Angmills, Sw3aty went in as Mario.  This switch to Mario looked to be a poor choice, as Angmills again was able to make slight work with his matchup, securing a 3-0 victory.  IUK tossed in Ghost this time around to help mitigate the damage to the team's stock count.  Ghost switched off of Bowser this matchup to Wolf.  Ghost held his own but suffered a critical phantom hit which cost him a stock and a massive spike by Angmills, resulting in a 3-1 victory for Mount Union. 

Last up for IUK was Roo, playing as his main Rob.  Roo was put into a tough spot where he has three stocks vs the remaining eight of Mount Union.  Rob vs Lucas was a complete turn around for the Cougars, as Roo came in and completely controlled the match, leading to a 2-0 victory.  Next for MU, Kirby came in as Snake once again.  This time around Roo was able to contain Snake much better, securing a 3-1 victory while barely escaping death.  In the last game of the set, Roo with two stocks faced Walugi, the Zelda main, who had their full three.  This match was intense, and Roo was able to take two stocks with the loss of just one, but a last game combo by Walugi secured the set win and series win for Mount Union in a 2-2 Victory for Walugi.  Mount Union won once again with a one stock victory.

Mount Union won the match 2-0 vs IU Kokomo.
