MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Indiana University Kokomo men's basketball player Xavier Hines was named the River States Conference men's basketball player of the week after enjoying a break-out weekend at the Oakland City Classic.

Hines, a senior forward from Noblesville, Indiana, had a game-high 20 points in a loss to Mount Vernon Nazarene University in game one of the Oakland City Classic. Xavier was 6-10 from three-point range on the day and shot 58% from the field overall.

Xavier continued his strong play Friday, helping lead the Cougars to a 25-point victory over Lawrence Tech. Hines was 5-5 from the field, including 2-2 from beyond-the-arc, for 12 points.
