BECKLEY, W.V. – The IU Kokomo women's soccer team won 3-0 Saturday afternoon at West Virginia Tech for their third-straight win and sixth win in their last seven games. The Cougars now have seven clean-sheets win on the year.
With five games remaining, the Cougars are now 8-1-3 overall and 4-0-1 in River States Conference play.
The Cougars found the back of the net less than six minutes into the game. A
Kelsi Hoot corner kick set up
Morgan Scruggs for a goal, giving the Cougars a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute.
IU Kokomo would add on to their lead in the 16th minute, when IUK goalscoring leader
Keely Hoopingarner beat the goalie for a 2-0 lead.

Kailee Moore was forced to make just two saves in the opening half, as IU Kokomo controlled play.
The Cougars third and final goal of the afternoon came from
Morgan Scruggs via a
Keely Hoopingarner assist. Scruggs's second goal of the afternoon was her fifth of the season.
IU Kokomo outshot West Virginia Tech 25-5 in the match and 16-4 in shots on goal.
Erica Bolinger made two saves for the Cougs in the second half.
The Cougars will return to action Thursday, October 13, with a road match at Oakland City. Kickoff is set for 2:00 P.M.
