MIDWAY, Ky. - The IU Kokomo women's soccer team was forced to come from behind to win Saturday afternoon, but they were up to the task. The Cougs scored three second-half goals to beat Midway and improve to 11-1-3 overall and 7-0-1 in River States Conference play.
The Cougars outshot the Eagles 17-7 overall and 9-6 in shots on goal.
IU Kokomo took a 1-0 lead less than ten minutes into the game, as
Morgan Scruggs notched her eighth goal of the season in the 19th minute to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.
Neither team was able to score for the remainder of the half, but the Cougars had chances.
Mackenzie Pedigo sent a shot off the post in the 34th minute but IU Kokomo took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Midway tied the match in the 49th minute with a goal from Taylor Harley. The Eagles would add another in the 60th minute to take a 2-0 lead with 30 minutes remaining.
Less than three minutes after Midway took a 2-1 lead, IU Kokomo's
Andi Williams scored her first goal of the season to tie the match at two.

Keely Hoopingarner gave IUK a 3-2 lead in the 78th minute with her 17th goal of the season.
A minute later,
Mackenzie Pedigo found the back of the net off of a
Morgan Scruggs assist. Pedigo's goal in the 79th minute was her second of the season and gave the Cougars a 4-2 lead with ten minutes remaining.
IU Kokomo went on to win the match 4-2 to stay tied atop the River States Conference standings with Point Park. Both the Cougars and Pioneers are 7-0-1 in RSC play.

Sydney Miller got the start in goal for IU Kokomo. Miller made four saves on six Midway shots on goal.
The Cougars will be in action next week with two home matches to close out the regular season. The Cougs will host Carlow Thursday night and Point Park Saturday afternoon.
