The Tipton native, Shaffer most recently lived, worked, and studied in London for the past year. At the University of East London she interned as a strength and conditioning coach while earning her Masters degree in Applied Sport and Exercise Science and playing basketball. As an intern, Shaffer managed team and individual workouts while working with Great Britain Olympic athletes, professionals, and Premiere League athletes. During her time overseas she was able to travel to seven different countries.
Prior to moving to Europe, Shaffer attended Trine University to earn her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science and was a member of the basketball team. On the court, Shaffer was a four-year varsity letter winner from 2012-2016, earned Second Team All-Conference in 2015 and was named Captain her Senior season (2015-16). In the classroom, Shaffer graduated Summa Cum Laude after making it on the Trine University Presidents List and MIAA Honor Roll for four semesters from 2014-2016.
Shaffer graduated from Tri-Central High School in 2012. During her time there she ran cross country and played soccer, basketball and softball. Shaffer won All-Conference in basketball for two years and softball and soccer for one year each. She ended up graduating Tri-Central with honors and 10 Varsity letters.
“Coach Colie and I share the same vision and I’m hoping to work towards a common goal to make things easier on her,” Shaffer said, “I’m looking forward to making our players stronger on and off the court.”
