Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Michigan-Dearborn 3-0 in Home Opener

KOKOMO, Ind. — IU Kokomo (2-1-0) secured a decisive 3-0 victory over the University of Michigan-Dearborn (0-1-0) on Tuesday at Municipal Stadium. The Cougars' defense was solid, allowing only three shots on goal, while their offense capitalized with two second-half goals to seal the win. This victory also marked an impressive early-season milestone for the team, as they have now reached 25 goals with a total of 27 through just three matches.

Quote From Coach
  • "I thought one of the biggest differences in the second half was our adjustment in the central midfield. We did a much better job of keeping possession, connecting passes, and allowing ourselves to get more numbers forward. That possession gave us more opportunities to build our attack, create chances, and ultimately put ourselves in better positions to score. Really proud of the response from the group and the way we made the necessary adjustments at halftime. Great team effort and a well-earned win!" - Head Coach Sohaila Akhavein

The Cougars will return to action at home Saturday evening, as they host Georgetown College (Ky.) for a 5:00 PM kickoff at Kokomo Municipal Stadium.
