LEXINGTON, Ky. - Continuing a tradition of excellence both on the court and in the classroom, the Indiana University Kokomo volleyball program has been recognized with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the seventh consecutive season, the organization recently announced.

The AVCA Team Academic Award recognizes collegiate and high school volleyball programs that achieve a cumulative team grade point average of 3.30 or higher during the academic year. Established in 1992, the award celebrates programs across all levels of volleyball that demonstrate a commitment to academic success alongside athletic achievement.

This year's recognition marks the 10th AVCA Team Academic Award in program history and extends the Cougars' streak to seven consecutive seasons. The accomplishment reflects the continued commitment of head coach Heather Hayes' program and its student-athletes to excellence in the classroom.

IU Kokomo enters the 2026 season looking to build on another outstanding campaign after capturing the River States Conference regular season and tournament championships while advancing to the final 16 of the  NAIA National Championship final site for the third consecutive year.
