INSIDE THE HUDDLE (Women's Quote)
- This was the last opportunity to qualify for nationals or to compete one last time for the seniors. Leslie Sprankles, Olivia Newcom, and Faith Rock all competed in their last competitions as IUK Cougars. They all left a legacy with their performances but more importantly they left our program better than when they found it. They will be missed but we are excited for their futures. Mia Bustos took advantage of the opportunity and threw the shot put far enough to be 18th in the nation. As a result, she has qualified for outdoor nationals even though she did not hit a standard, as the NAIA has a safety net of a minimum 20 athletes or relays per event.
INSIDE THE HUDDLE (Men's Quote)
- This was the last opportunity to qualify for nationals or to compete one last time for the seniors. Rhett Berryman competed in his last event as an IUK Cougar but he left a legacy for the throws program and help to set the standard that our throws group will continue into the future. He will be missed but not forgotten. Seth Ireland and Evan Gaylor extended their senior years by qualifying for nationals.
THE ROAD AHEAD
- Six IU Kokomo student-athletes are set to compete at next week's NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
