KOKOMO, Ind. - After dropping the first two games of the series Friday to RV Oakland City, the Cougars fell 9–0 to the Mighty Oaks in Monday's series finale to open a stretch of six games in six days.

THE RUNDOWN
- Oakland City struck first in the opening inning, using a leadoff double from Simon Gaines and an RBI single from Jake Winzenread to take an early 1–0 lead.
- IU Kokomo put runners on in both the first and second innings, collecting three early hits, but were unable to push a run across.
- The Cougars threatened again in the fifth after Riley Sands and Payton Hankins drew back-to-back walks and moved into scoring position on a wild pitch, but Oakland City escaped the jam with a pair of strikeouts to maintain the 3–0 lead.
- The Mighty Oaks extended their advantage in the fifth inning when Marcos Arocho delivered a two-run double to center, scoring Bryce Humphrey and Dicky Gonzalez to make it 3–0.
- Oakland City added two more in the eighth as Humphrey doubled down the left field line to plate a pair, pushing the lead to 5–0.
- The Mighty Oaks broke the game open in the ninth with four runs, highlighted by a two-run triple from Eric Correa and RBI hits from Oliver Hamilton and Charlie Hoffman.
- IU Kokomo loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the ninth after three walks, but Oakland City recorded three straight strikeouts to close out the 9–0 victory.
LEADING THE CHARGE
- Rodney Rachel led the Cougars at the plate, finishing 2-for-5 with a pair of singles.
- Payton Hankins, Peyton Lear, and Luke Hanson each collected a hit, while Hankins and Hanson also drew a walk.
- Riley Sands reached base three times with three walks in the leadoff spot.
- Asa Christie took the loss, allowing one run on two hits while striking out three over 3.0 innings in the start.
- Owen Norris worked two innings in relief, striking out two while allowing two runs.
- Jacob Forson tossed a scoreless sixth inning, allowing no hits and one walk.
- AJ Burkhalter added a scoreless frame as well, striking out two in the seventh.
