MARION, Ind. - The IU Kokomo baseball team battled on the road, but ultimately fell 11-5 to Indiana Wesleyan on Thursday afternoon. The Cougars showed flashes of offensive spark and late push back as they continue to search for their first win of the season.

THE RUNDOWN
- The Cougars struck first in the top of the third, with an RBI single off the bat of Jedvier Garcia, scoring Riley Sands who reached on an error.
- Indiana Wesleyan promptly responded in the bottom half of the inning, plating six runs of their own. They would extend their lead to 9-1 in the fourth courtesy of a two-run home run and an RBI single in the fourth.
- The Cougars scratched one across in the top half of the fifth, as Brock Taulman scored on another Garcia RBI.
- IU Kokomo continued to claw back in the sixth, with Corbin Napier driving home Bradyn Douglas, who stole second and third after pinch running for Nate Montogmery. In the next at-bat, Max French took a first pitch fastball over the left field wall for his first homer of the season, cutting the deficit to four.
- The Wildcat bullpen held IUK scoreless through the final nine outs, as their offense tacked on another pair of runs, making the final score 11-5.
LEADING THE CHARGE
- Max French and Jedvier Garcia each recorded a pair of RBI's in the ball game and combined to reach base four times.
- Corbin Napier turned in a two-hit performance to go along with an RBI in the loss.
- Cam Howard and AJ Burkhalter combined for five strikeouts, no walks, and only two hits in a combined 4.1 innings out of the bullpen.
