KANSAS CITY, Mo. — IU Kokomo junior Mya Grigsby added another national accolade to her remarkable 2026 campaign Tuesday, earning NAIA Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week honors for the second time this season.
With the announcement, Grigsby becomes the first player in IU Kokomo volleyball history to earn multiple NAIA National Player of the Week honors. The junior outside hitter previously received the distinction on Sept. 9, becoming the first player in program history to earn the national award.
Grigsby continued her dominant offensive play during a perfect 3-0 week for the Cougars, totaling 50 kills, 30 digs and six total blocks while hitting .300 on 100 swings. She averaged 4.5 kills per set as IU Kokomo extended its winning streak to eight matches.
The standout junior began a demanding stretch of three matches in less than 24 hours with a dominant performance at IU East, putting down 22 kills while hitting an impressive .459 to lead the Cougars to a straight-set victory over their conference rivals. Grigsby continued her strong play during Saturday's two-match slate at Midway University, helping IU Kokomo sweep the host Eagles before recording a double-double in a four-set victory over Lindsey Wilson.
Tuesday's announcement adds another chapter to Grigsby's historic junior campaign, which has already seen her become the fastest player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills and just the second Cougar to surpass both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. She also set a new program record with 34 kills in a five-set victory over IU Columbus earlier this month.
