PORTSMOUTH, Ohio. – The IU Kokomo women's basketball team played its second straight road game Saturday afternoon, traveling to Shawnee State where they fell to a talented Bears squad.

THE RUNDOWN
- IU Kokomo played stout defense early in Saturday's contest, holding the Bears to just one point over the opening 6:40. Shawnee State closed the quarter with a 15–2 run to take control after the opening period.
- The Cougar offense struggled to find a rhythm throughout the afternoon, particularly in the second quarter, as the Bears pushed their lead to 30–13 by halftime.
- After Shawnee State opened the second half with another strong quarter, IU Kokomo held its own in the fourth, but the Bears comfortably closed out a 70–35 victory over the Cougars.
LEADING THE CHARGE
- Mackenzie York and Hannah Hodgen were the only Cougars to reach double figures, with York scoring 13 points and grabbing four rebounds while Hodgen added 10 points and three rebounds.
