KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo women's basketball team secured its second straight double-digit victory and fifth win in six games Friday afternoon with a 13-point home win over WVU Tech, controlling play for much of the 40 minutes.

THE RUNDOWN
- IU Kokomo took advantage of a slow start from WVU Tech, scoring the first four points and 16 of the first 21 to build an 11-point lead with 3:58 remaining in the first quarter. The Cougars led 21-10 after one.
- The Cougars maintained control in the second quarter, extending the lead to as many as 18 and entering halftime with a 38-22 advantage.
- WVU Tech opened the second half on a 9-0 run, cutting IU Kokomo's lead to seven. The Cougars responded with a 14-0 run of their own, pushing their largest lead of the game to 52-31. The Golden Bears chipped away, trailing IU Kokomo 52-39 after three quarters.
- Just as in the third quarter, WVU Tech pulled within seven, but never closer, as IU Kokomo closed out a 67-54 home win over the 12-6 Golden Bears.
LEADING THE CHARGE
- Five Cougars scored in double figures, led by Cameryn Rector's game-high 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field in 37 minutes of action.
- Both Mackenzie York and Hannah Hodgen added 11 points in the win, with York contributing six rebounds and five assists while Hodgen pulled down five boards. Rector, York, and Hodgen combined to shoot 19-of-21 from the free-throw line.
- Moriah Crawford recorded her second double-double of the season and a career-high 16 rebounds, adding 10 points and playing a key role in the win. The 16 rebounds are the most in a game since Tia Chambers totaled 17 against IU Southeast on 2/15/2022.
- Mia Catey finished with 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists in the win.
