KOKOMO, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo women's soccer program picked up their first win of the fall Tuesday night, shutting out IU Northwest 2-0 to improve to 1-1-1 on the young season.

THE RUNDOWNÂ
- After the Cougars earned three corner kicks within the opening 11 minutes, sophomore defender Rylee Walczak launched a high shot from a good distance, beating the IU Northwest keeper to give the Cougs a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute.
- Addison Waller and Anna Burns each put a shot on target for IU Kokomo later in the opening half, as the Cougars took a 1-0 lead into the halftime locker room.
- Just over two minutes into the second half, senior midfielder Kaiya Bogers sent a cross into the box looking to find teammate Gia Tumber, yet an IU Northwest defender attempting to clear with a header sent the ball into the back of the net. The own goal from the RedHawks gave the Cougars a two-goal cushion with 43 minutes remaining in the match.
- Both teams had a few more quality scoring chances on the night, yet IU Kokomo goalkeeper Kailee Moore continued to have answers for each IU Northwest shot, as the Cougars closed out a 2-0 win in their first match at Kokomo Municipal Stadium this fall.
LEADING THE CHARGE
- Moore put on a clinic Tuesday night in goal for the Cougars to keep the RedHawks scoreless, finishing with 14 saves. She made multiple stellar stops on the evening, with her leadership on full display throughout.
- Walczak's goal in the 11th minute was the first of her collegiate career and came on her first career shot on goal and second shot attempt.
- Bogers was the lone Cougar to put multiple shots on target, finishing with a pair of SOG's.
- Six different Cougars finished with a shot on goal.
