Pair of Late Goals Push Tabor Past IU Kokomo Saturday

HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Indiana University Kokomo women's soccer team program suffered their first loss of the season Saturday afternoon in Kansas, falling to Tabor College 3-1 thanks to a pair of Bluejay goals inside the final ten minutes.

THE RUNDOWN 
  • IU Kokomo and Tabor played a fairly even opening 45 minutes Saturday, as each team registered four shots. It was the Bluejays who took a lead into the halftime locker room however, as they led the Cougars 1-0.
  • Tabor's April Ochoa was unable to convert on three separate shots around the 60th minute, allowing IU Kokomo to hang around on the road.
  • After a shot from Charity Lewis went off the post in the 76th minute, IU Kokomo's Addison Waller found the back of the net to even the match at 1-1 with less than 20 minutes to play.
  • Less than five minutes later, the Bluejays' Porsha Zweifel gave Tabor the lead for good, eventually adding her second of the match in the 84th minute to put the match on ice while leading 3-1.2

LEADING THE CHARGE
  • Addison Waller was responsible for the Cougars first goal of the season and three of the team's five shots on goal in the match.
  • Veteran goalkeeper Kailee Moore stopped three of Tabor's six shots on frame.
