KOKOMO, Ind. – Indiana University Kokomo head track and field coach
Josh Colvin has announced the hiring of Kokomo native
Addy Turner as the program's newest assistant coach.
"We are excited for coach Turner to join our coaching staff," Colvin stated. "Her life experience as well as her coaching experience will be invaluable to our athletes." Colvin continued, saying "she is going to bring a lot of excitement to the team but also be demanding of our athletes and expect them to be fully prepared for practice while competing at a high level in meets."
Addy is no stranger to coaching, as she is in the midst of year three at the helm of the Western High School girl's soccer program. On the pitch, her team experienced a six-win improvement from year one to year two. Turner also served as the Head Sprints & Jumps Coach at Western the past two springs.
When asked about her new position, Addy had this to say: "I am extremely excited to move forward in my coaching career with Indiana University Kokomo. I am grateful for my time spent working with the track and field athletes at Western High School and I am eager to grow in this new role. We have an incredibly talented young group at IUK and we are ready to get to work!"
Turner graduated a year in advance from Anderson in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, where she was a two-sport athlete (Soccer & Track & Field) for two of her three years. The mother of Ellie, Addy and her family reside in Howard County.
