OXFORD, Ohio. - The Indiana University Kokomo women's basketball team has been picked to finish seventh in the River States Conference, according to the 2025 RSC Preseason Coaches' Poll released by the league office on Wednesday.
IU Kokomo scored a total of 60 points, finishing four points behind sixth-place St. Mary-of-the-Woods and one point ahead of eighth-place IU East. Shawnee State is favored to win the league, accumulating 119 points and receiving nine of the 12 first-place votes. Rio Grande secured second place with 111 points and two of the remaining first-place votes, while Brescia took third with 100 points and the last first-place vote.
Led by second-year head coach Lisa Pflueger, the Cougars enter the 2025-2026 season building off a 2024-2025 campaign where they finished with a 12-15 overall record and an 8-8 mark in River States Conference play. This represented a four-win improvement overall and a three-win increase in conference games compared to the previous season. IU Kokomo now aims to qualify for the RSC Tournament for the first time since the 2019-2020 season.
Despite the departure of Alice Lloyd from the River States Conference, there are 12 teams set to compete once again this fall, as first-year member school Kentucky Christian joins the fray.
