KOKOMO, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo baseball team dropped Sunday's series finale with (RV) IU Southeast 11-6, settling for a series win after a pair of wins over the Grenadiers Saturday. The Cougars close the weekend with an overall record of 29-14, and a conference mark of 17-4.

IU Southeast ambushed the Cougars early, scoring five in the first and two in the second for an early 7-0 lead after an inning and a half.

IU Kokomo would get on the scoreboard in the second, as Kasey Ross scored on a wild pitch and Jacob Medvescek crossed the plate on a Brayden Coffey RBI groundout to cut the deficit to 7-2.

The Cougs would scratch another run across in the third, as Luke Hanson reached via fielder's choice after a missed tag from the IUSE second baseman allowed everyone to advance safely.

Both squads pushed a run across in the fifth, as the Grenadier stayed at four runs through five complete.

The Grenadiers added a pair of runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh to lead 11-4 after seven.

IU Kokomo would push a solo run across in both the eighth and ninth, but the Cougs came up short by a final score of 11-6.

The Cougars are set for at least one more home River States Conference series, as the Eagles of Midway will come to town next weekend for a three-game set.
