PIPPA PASSES, Ky. - The IU Kokomo baseball team won both games of Friday's doubleheader at Alice Lloyd College, dominating game one 22-2 before claiming game two 6-3. With the wins, the Cougars rise to 13-11 overall this season and 3-2 in River States Conference action.

Game 1 (9 innings): 22-2 Win (7 innings)

• The Cougars came out hot with six runs in the first inning, starting with a lead off home run by Riley Garczynski. Kasey Ross hit a homer with Tucker Platt on base, and Thomas Obergfell scored on an RBI single by Tahj Borom. Borom was then driven in by yet another home run, this time by Dylan Janke.
• In the second inning, Alex Janke scored on an RBI double by Tucker Platt (Platt out at third) and Thomas Obergfell hit a two-run home run (Jarod Gillespie scored).
• Alice Lloyd scored one on a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning.
• Alex Janke scored on an RBI single by Kasey Ross in the fourth inning.
• In the fifth inning, Brayden Coffey and Tahj Borom both scored on a RBI single by Riley Garczynski.
• Alice Lloyd scored another run on an RBI double in the fifth, but still trailed 12-2 through five innings.
• The Cougars scored five runs in the sixth inning, the first two of which came on walks with the bases loaded. Then, with the bases once again loaded, Alex Janke hit a three-run double, sending Riley Garczynski, Garrett Lupoi, and Dylan Janke across the plate.
• The seventh inning also saw the Cougars drive in five runs. Jarod Gillespie and Caden Whitehead each hit solo home runs. Then, with Judah Hennessy, Riley Garczynski, and Tahj Borom occupying the bases, Tucker Platt cranked a three-RBI double to send them all across the plate, bringing the Cougars lead to 22-2.
• Justin Bultemeier got the start and the win for IUK, pitching the first five innings. Bultemeier struck out two batters and had two walks while giving up seven hits and two earned runs.
• Dylan Keever closed for IUK, giving up one hit and striking out one batter in the seventh inning.

Game 2 (7 innings): 6-3 win

• Each team scored one run in the first inning. Tucker Platt scored for IUK on an RBI single by Thomas Obergfell, and Alice Lloyd scored on a sacrifice fly.
• Garrett Lupoi scored on an RBI single by Caden Whitehead in the second inning.
• In the third inning, Tucker Platt hit a solo home run, and Thomas Obergfell hit an RBI double to send Jack Leverenz home.
• Alice Lloyd scored two runs in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly and a passed ball.
• In the fifth inning, Jacob Medvescek scored on an RBI double by Jack Leverenz.
• Jack Leverenz scored on a passed ball in the seventh and Alice Lloyd failed to answer in the bottom of the inning as IUK took home a 6-3 victory.
• Logan Greer started and earned the win for the Cougars. Greer pitched four innings and gave up four hits and two earned runs. Greer also struck out four batters and gave up three walks.
• Luke McDonald pitched the fifth and sixth innings for IUK, giving up no hits or runs and striking out one batter.
• Victor Fujiu pitched the final inning and earned the save. Fujiu recorded two strikeouts in the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Cougars close out their three game series against Alice Lloyd on Saturday, before returning home for a doubleheader on Tuesday against Grace College.
