BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The IU Kokomo Indoor Track and Field teams traveled to Bourbonnais, IL on Friday afternoon to compete in the 2024 ONU Invite. The meet consisted of 18 teams from various conferences and divisions.
Evan Gaylor topped his stellar performance last week by punching his ticket in shot put to the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships. Gaylor's mark of 15.46m hit the NAIA "B" Standard and was good for first overall in the meet.
Fellow thrower Seth Ireland had an impressive showing of his own in the shot put with a personal record throw of 14.19m that placed him second overall in the meet.
Freshmen Hayden Nelson had another great race in the 60m where he finished third overall.
The always impressive Julian Wallace grabbed a first-place finish in the 400m and was able to regain the school record in a time of 51.43.
Wallace also anchored a 4x400m relay team of Brayden Voght, Isaiah Belcher, and Rico Ortiz to a first-place finish in a time of 3:30.77.

The Cougars will be back in action next Saturday, as they travel to Indiana Wesleyan to compete in the Midwest Classic.
