BOURBONNAIS, Ill., ANDERSON, Ind., MARION, Ind. - The IU Kokomo men's indoor track and field team took part in another busy weekend, with the Cougars competing at Olivet Nazarene, Anderson University, and Indiana Wesleyan.

THE RUNDOWN

• Seth Ireland punched his ticket to the NAIA Indoor National Championships in March with a "B" standard throw of 16.09 meters in the shot put at Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday, placing third in the event and moving to third all-time in the program's record books.
• Teammate Gabe Wedmore won the shot put at the IWU Midwest Classic with a "B" standard mark of 16.34 meters, adding to a national-qualifying resume he had already secured earlier this season. Wedmore continues to lead the River States Conference in the shot put while ranking second in the weight throw.
• The 4x800 meter relay team of Steven Case, Ayden Potts, Isaiah Kanable, and Jeremiah Miles set a new school record Friday at Olivet Nazarene, finishing in a time of 8:11.86.
• Jeremiah Miles continued to shine individually, setting a new freshman record in the 1,000 meters while moving to second all-time in program history with a time of 2:40.07 on Saturday at IWU.
• Jackson Money improved to second all-time in school history in the high jump, clearing 1.84 meters.
• The 4x400 meter relay team of Darrius Megnin, Trevon Hess, Rico Ortiz, and Jackson Money finished fourth among 11 teams with a time of 3:31.35, good for fifth all-time in program history.

• "We are gearing up for our conference meet in a few weeks. We have one last shot at putting down some times and marks at GVSU this next weekend. With our new conference rule that we have to have a mark or a time to enter athletes into events at the conference meet, we are making sure we are checking off boxes but also allowing athletes to shine in their events. We had a freshman record, a school record, and a B Standard this past weekend so I would say overall a very successful weekend for our men's team." - Head Coach Josh Colvin
