COLUMBUS, Ind. - The IU Kokomo volleyball team continued their winning ways Friday night, earning their tenth-straight win with a sweep of IUPUC. With the victory, the Cougars are now 15-3 overall and 6-0 in River States Conference play.

Lexi Broyles lead the way in the opening set, collecting six kills and making her presence felt early on. Leading 3-2, IU Kokomo went on a 10-0 run fueled by four Broyles kills to lead 13-2 midway through the set.

The Crimson Pride of IUPUC would trim the deficit to seven at 20-13, but the Cougars closed out a 25-17 first-set win.

IUPUC won the opening four points of the second set and led 9-6 through 15 points. The Cougs utilized a 9-0 run with the set tied at 10, taking a commanding 19-10 lead behind the strong serving of Broyles. Set two went the way of the Cougars, 25-15.

IU Kokomo found themselves trailing by three at the halfway point of the third set, but the Cougars did not panic. IUK battled back to tie the set at 16 before taking a 20-17 lead to force a Crimson Pride timeout. 

With Julia Sanders serving while leading 20-18, the Cougars closed the match on a 5-0 run to win the third-set 25-18 and the match 3-0.

Broyles finished with a match-high ten kills to go along with three blocks and a pair of service aces. Maggie Connell had some big swings on the night, tallying nine kills.

Allison Richman led with 14 assists while Kaley Lyons had 13 assists and nine digs. Alyvia Smith had 13 digs and five assists.

The Cougars will return home to host Point Park Saturday. First-serve is set for 12:00 PM.
