KOKOMO, Ind. - The Indiana University Kokomo volleyball team returned home Saturday for an RSC matchup with Point Park, handling the Pioneers in three sets to stay undefeated in conference play.

IU Kokomo jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but Point Park managed to keep the set close for awhile. The Cougars were able to extend the lead to six at 16-10, forcing a Point Park timeout. Two Lexi Broyles kills and a Pioneer attack error gave IUK a 19-12 lead that forced a final PPU timeout of the set.

Point Park would battle throughout the end of the set, but IU Kokomo held on to win the opening set 25-19.

Through ten points the second set was tied 5-5, but from then on it was absolutely dominated by the Cougars. IU Kokomo won the next six points and 20 of the next 24 to win the second-set going away, 25-9.

The Cougars won the first four points of the final set and built the lead to 10-6 before another 4-0 spurt gave IUK a 14-6 lead. Point Park took a timeout while trailing 18-10 but only got within seven at 20-13 before IU Kokomo closed the match on a 5-0 run to win the final set 25-13.

Lexi Broyles led IU Kokomo in kills and blocks with 11 and four, while Mia Niekamp added ten kiils. Audrey Strawsma collected eight kills, six digs, and two blocks. 

Alyvia Smith had a match-high 14 digs, while Julia Sanders contributed nine. Allison Richman led the way with a match-high 19 assists, as Kaley Lyons tallied 13.

The Cougars will return to action Tuesday for a match at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, the first of three conference matches on the week.
