OWENSBORO, Ky. - The IU Kokomo volleyball team defeated Brescia University in a three-set win on Saturday. The victory brings the Cougars record to 14-3 as they remain perfect in conference play (5-0).

Fresh off of a three-set win Friday evening at Oakland City, IU Kokomo began Saturday's match by winning 14 of the first 16 points for a commanding 14-2 lead. Brescia won the next two points to make it 14-4, but the Cougars won the next 11 points to win the opening set 25-4.

The second set was competitive until the midway point of the set. Leading 15-13, IU Kokomo went on a 5-0 run to take a 20-13 lead. The Cougars went on to win the second set 25-16 for a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Bearcats of Brescia led 10-9 in the third set, but the Cougars won the next five points to take a 14-10 lead midway through the set. IU Kokomo won 11 of the final 17 points to take the third set 25-16 and the match 3-0. 

Tori Wilkinson led IU Kokomo in both kills and aces, tallying six kills and three aces. Cali Cummings & Lexi Broyles each had three blocks, Broyles also had five kills. Freshman Mia Niekamp contributed four kills.

Kaley Lyons had a team-high 11 assists along with seven digs. Alyvia Smith had a team-high nine digs and four assists.                                    

The Cougars will return to action with the program's first ever match againt IU Columbus. The match is set for Thursday in Columbus, Indiana.
