KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo baseball team defeated Brescia University by a score of 10-0 on Friday. The Cougars are now 21-17 with an 11-8 mark in conference games.

Offensive Highlights

• The Cougars scored half of their 10 runs in the first inning. First, Riley Garczynski scored on a infield error. After this, Nolan Bowser hit an RBI single (Thomas Obergfell scored). Jack Leverenz then hit a 2 RBI single (Nolan Bowser and Tucker Platt scored). Jarod Gillespie scored on an RBI from Tahj Borom.
• Three more runs came for IUK in the third inning. Tahj Borom smashed a 2-RBI triple (Hayden Davis and Noah Hurlock scored). Borom then scored on a groundout from Riley Garczynski.
• The Cougars scored their final two runs in the sixth inning. Riley Garczynski scored on an RBI triple from Nolan Bowser, who then scored on an RBI double from Tucker Platt.

Pitching

• Lucas Letsinger started for the Cougars and pitched the entire game. Letsinger allowed 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 7 batters.

The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday for a doubleheader against Brescia to finish out a 3 game series.
