KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo baseball team started their four-game weekend with a 6-2 win against Saint Francis and a 2-4 loss against Madonna University on Saturday. The Cougars now sit at 6-6 on the season.
Game One Offensively
Game One Pitching
- Ben Harris got the start and the win, pitching six innings. Harris allowed 4 hits, 2 walks, and 2 runs, one of which was earned. He also recorded 5 strikeouts.
- Dylan Steele pitched the seventh and final inning, not giving up a hit.
Game Two Offensively
- IUK scored their two runs in the second inning. Luke Barnes hit an RBI double (Jarod Gillespie scored), followed by an RBI ground out from Dylan Janke (Nolan Bowser scored).
- A homer with two men on gave Madonna a 3-2 lead in the third inning. Madonna would notch another run in the sixth on an RBI triple.
Game Two Pitching
- Lucas Letsinger started for the Cougars, pitching five innings. Letsinger struck out six, gave up 4 hits and 4 earned runs, as well as 2 walks.
- Ethan Leslie pitched the sixth inning, recording 1 strikeout and giving up 1 hit.
- Asa Christie closed the game for IUK, striking out 2 hitters and walking 1.
The Cougars look forward to their next two games on Sunday, facing off against Saint Francis and Madonna once again at home.
