KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo women's basketball team hosted the Saints of Holy Cross College on Saturday evening at the Student Activities and Events Center. The Cougars would drop this one 68-55 and fall to a 2-2 record on the year.
The Cougars came out firing and playing excellent defense in a tight start that included three ties in the first six minutes. A Hannah Hodgen lay-up would knot things up at eight with four minutes to play in the first quarter.
Holy Cross would go on to rattle off a few more points and the Cougars found themselves down 20-11 after the first quarter.
Kelsi Langley came out swinging in the second quarter with a made three to cut the lead to six. It would be more Saints points after that however as IU Kokomo trailed 33-20 going into halftime.
The Cougars would find some life with 8:45 remaining in the fourth as an Anna Kiser jumper would cut the Holy Cross lead to nine. The Saints would recover and go on to win 68-55.
Anna Kiser led the Cougars with a double-double performance that included 20 points and 10 boards while shooting 7/13 from the field. Olivia Dowden was the only other Cougar in double figures with a 13-point contribution.
Hannah Hodgen had a solid all-around game with eight points, three assists, and six rebounds. McKenzie Cooper and Kelsi Langley chipped in six points apiece.
The Cougars will return to action November 21 at home vs Bethel University. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
