KOKOMO, Ind. - The IU Kokomo women's basketball team is set to return to River States Conference play this week after closing out the non-conference portion of their schedule. The Cougars will play at #12 Rio Grande Tuesday before hosting Ohio Christian Saturday afternoon.

IU Kokomo enters the week looking for their second win of the season after falling on the road at Holy Cross College (Ind.) 67-58 last Friday. The Cougars are 1-4 in River States Conference play, having won at Brescia by 11 in the last conference game before break.

The Cougars have been led by sophomore guard Anya Friend who is averaging 13 points per game.

University of Rio Grande comes into Tuesday's matchup ranked as the #12 team in the NAIA. The Red Storm have won eight-straight games and are 13-1 overall and 5-0 in RSC action. Rio Grande is led by Division 1 transfer Ella Skeens who is averaging 22 points per game and eight rebounds per game.

The Trailblazers of Ohio Christian come into the week with an overall record of 4-10 and an RSC mark of 2-3. Ohio Christian has lost their last two games to non-conference foes, and have not played any common opponents yet this year. The Cougars are 5-4 all-time against the Trailblazers.
