PIPPA PASSES, Ky. – The Indiana University Kokomo women's basketball team fell behind early, and despite a big second-half comeback attempt, the Cougars fell 86-73 at Alice Lloyd.
Alaya Chapman opened the scoring for IU Kokomo Thursday evening, tying the game at two with a bucket on the second possession. After the basket from Chapman, Alice Lloyd went on a 15-0 run to take a commanding 17-2 lead late in the first quarter.

Olivia Dowden three-pointer cut the deficit to ten, but the Eagles of Alice Lloyd led 24-10 after the first quarter. Alice Lloyd continued their strong play in the second quarter, quickly extending their lead to 20 early on. The Eagles led the Cougars 50-24 at halftime.
IU Kokomo started the second half with an 8-0 run to set the tone for the half.
Emma Good drilled a trey to pull the Cougars within 14 points with 4:45 remaining in the third quarter. A pair of free-throws from
Ella Wolfe trimmed the deficit to 11 with less than a minute to go, but an Eagle three-pointer gave them a 67-53 lead after three quarters.
After falling behind by 16, the Cougars scored six-straight points to get within ten.
Mia Catey drilled a triple on the ensuing possession to pull the Cougs to within nine, their first single-digit deficit of the second half. Alice Lloyd managed to regain control, as they kept a double-digit lead for the next four minutes.

Shamaria Walker triple cut the Eagle lead to nine once again, this time with 3:05 remaining in the game, however Alice Lloyd outscored IU Kokomo 6-2 over the final three minutes to win 86-73.
Alaya Chapman led the Cougars with a 16 point, 11 rebound double-double. Freshman guard
Ella Wolfe had 12 points while
Olivia Dowden added ten points off the bench.
The Cougars will travel to West Virginia to take on the Golden Bears of West Virginia Tech Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 1:00 P.M.
